The Womack Herons gather round the barbecue at Salhouse
We stayed overnight and then cruised up to Coltishall.

You don't have to own a boat to be a member of the Womack Herons. However, many of our meetings take place at riverside locations and some people travel there by boat.

Friday 10th May: Cruise or drive to Upton for a
12.30pm fish & chip lunch. Please book with menu
choice by Friday 3rd May. Click here
Thursday 23rd May: Walk in Sheringham Park and Afternoon Tea: Meet at the Dales Hotel, Sheringham, at 1.45pm ready to start the walk at 2pm. Come and enjoy the spectacular Rhododendrons! Afterwards, afternoon tea with sandwiches, cake, scones and cream has been booked at the hotel for 4pm. Booking for the walk and/or tea required by 16th May.
Saturday 8th June. Summer barbecue at Crusoes. The BBQ will be ready for cooking by 1pm; please bring your own chairs, drinks and food to cook. If you plan to come by boat, you may be able to moor at Crusoes which has space for one or two small boats – please contact Graham to check – alternatively moor at Womack Staithe or in Womack Dyke – Crusoes is a 10 minute walk from the staithe. Note change of date.
Tuesday 18th June: Cruise or drive to South Walsham and the Fairhaven Garden Trust for lunch at 12.30pm; whilst there you may wish to take a stroll round the extensive gardens (entry fee applies). See lunch menu here - pre-ordering is not required. If coming by boat, Fairhaven Gardens are a 20 minute walk from the moorings in South Walsham Dyke. Book for lunch with Tricia by 13th June.
Tuesday 16th July. Take the North Norfolk Railway
from Holt to Sheringham (rtn): Meet at Holt Station by
10.45am ready to depart Holt on the steam train at
11.25am. Enjoy the stunning scenery on the short ride
to Sheringham, where there will be about 3hrs of free time
for lunch, paddling, shopping or walking before taking the
3.30pm steam train back to Holt. Train ticket: £12.50.

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July. Cruise or drive to Salhouse Broad on Saturday for a lunchtime picnic. Please bring your own picnic and chairs. Boaters may wish to stay overnight: a day or overnight mooring fee applies. (a number of moorings will be reserved in advance – please book your space). On Sunday, lunch has been booked at the Fur & Feather Inn, Woodbastwick for 12.30pm. Please book for Sunday lunch with menu choices by 22nd July. (menu to come)
Wednesday 7th August: Cruise or drive to How Hill for a lunchtime picnic from 12.30pm. Bring your own picnic and chairs.
Saturday 31st August: Tea/Coffee and scones in Horning. Cruise or drive to Horning for tea/coffee and scones in the garden at Tricia's house, served from 2.30pm. Booking not required but it would help catering to know numbers. Contact Tricia with numbers and for directions if needed.
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September: Overnight stay at Gays Staithe with barbecue lunch and then lunch at the White Horse, Neatishead on Sunday.
Friday 27th September: Cruise or drive to St Benet’s Abbey for a guided tour starting at 11am. This is St Benet’s 1000 year anniversary – come and discover more of its history, stories and secrets! After the tour stay and enjoy a picnic by the river – bring your own picnic. Booking is not essential but it would be helpful to know numbers for the tour. Please let Tricia know by Monday 23rd Sept.
